MIDLAND, Texas — Coahoma High School junior Hunter Chavez finished fourth to lead the Bulldogs at the Tall City Invite small schools division on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Chavez clocked a time of 17 minutes, 55 seconds to anchor the high school boys squad. Karson Kelso added a top-30 performance, placing 29th with a time of 20 minutes, 22 seconds out of a field of 148 competitors.
Kian Mulkey crossed the finish line in 22 minutes, 56 seconds. He was followed by Ricky Rodriguez (24:00) and Hayden Walker (24:52).
In the high school girls division, Thamar De Los Santos paced the Bulldogettes team with a time of 16 minutes, 45 seconds to finish in 93rd place out of 180 runners. Andrea Rochelle followed closely, finishing in 17 minutes, 23 seconds. Daniela Lopez recorded 18:18, Kayleigh Edmondson finished in 18:35, and Nevaeh Nairn rounded out the timed runners in 23:08.
The meet was held at Hogan Park and Sibley Nature Center in Midland, Texas.
Next Up: The Cross Country team will be back in action this Saturday at the Eric Stinson Invitational hosted by Big Spring High School. The event will take place at Comanche Trail Park in Big Spring.
