CHS varsity track qualifies 13 individuals, 4 relays teams for area meet

Behind a dominant performance in the field and on the track, the Coahoma High School varsity girls track and field team captured the District 3-3A championship in Denver City on April 9.

The Bulldogettes won the team title fueled by individual gold-medal performances from Bree Lewis, Aziah Shifflett, and the 4x400-meter relay team.

The top four finishers in each event now advance to the area meet, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Kermit.

Lewis swept the throwing events with first-place finishes in both the shot put (39 feet, 5 inches) and the discus (113-3). Oakley Lewis also punched her ticket to the area meet in both events, finishing third in the shot put and third in the discus.

CHS JV Bulldogettes track team wins district championship

The Coahoma High School junior varsity girls track and field team capped off their season claiming the District 3-3A championship at the meet held in Denver City on April 9.
