Two Coahoma High School students earned spots in the Association of Texas Small School Bands All State Band following auditions Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Levelland High School.
Senior horn player Lyndee Davidson and senior euphonium player Noah Mondier were selected for the ensemble after competing in the Area West 3A auditions. The competition featured top musicians from a region spanning Amarillo to San Angelo and Abilene to El Paso.
The achievement places Davidson and Mondier among the top high school performers in the state. They are scheduled to perform Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Lila Cockrell Theater in San Antonio as part of the Texas Music Educators Association Convention. The ensemble will perform under the direction of composer Randall Standridge.
This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the Coahoma music program, which has seen 10 students advance to the All State level since 1973. In the past two years, three CHS student musicians have reached this elite level of excellence in high school music education. Trumpet player Ian Garrido advanced to state in 2025.
"This accomplishment not only marks the effort that these students have put in during the school year but highlights the consistent drive that these students have maintained throughout their entire time learning and perfecting their skills," said Daniel Money, CHS band director.
