OZONA — Jaidyn Vineyard lifted a total of 1,145 pounds of iron to win his weight class and led the Bulldog powerlifting team to a solid third place finish at the Ozona meet. Overall, the Coahoma strongmen and women collected 12 individual medals on Saturday.
Vineyard had 440 on squat, benched 250 pounds, and pulled 455 on dead lift to win gold in the 181s.
Teammates Tres Vasquez, Brandon Cortez, and John Reagan brought home silver. Vasequez (123) had 315 on squat, 200 on bench, and 345 on dead lift for a total of 860 pounds of iron. Cortez (132) had a three-lift total of 855 — 335 on squat, 190 on bench, and 330 on dead lift. John Reagan (SHW) pumped 1,025 pounds of iron. He had 375 on squat, 275 on bench, and 375 on dead lift.
Performances by Bryce Davis (123), Gage Simmons (165), Jacob Padron (198), and Cloud Arriola (220) helped secure the Bulldogs third place team finish. All four powerlifters earned bronze in their respective weight class.
Nevaeh Kerby, Serena Dobbs, and Addi Hart led the Bulldogette powerlifters. All three earned silver in their respective weight class. Kerby (97) hoisted 595 pounds of iron, Dobbs (114) finished the event with 690 total pounds recorded; and Hart (148) had a three-lift total of 675. Maddie Cervantes brought home a bronze after recording a total of 670 pounds.
The Bulldogette team finished fifth overall.
