Sixteen Coahoma Junior High School students will be participating in the ATSSB All-Region 6 East Zone Band Clinic & Concert set for this Saturday, Jan. 21. 

This is the largest group of CJHS students to be selected to participate in the Clinic & Concert in recent memory. The young musicians were chosen through an audition process held in December when they competed against their peers from around the region. 

“Pushing students to try for something, even for something that they are fully capable of, can be hard for them because fear of failure is a real thing,” said Daniel Money, CJHS band director. “The fact that we had this many students make the All-Region Band is a huge accomplishment on the part of the students and shows that the Coahoma band program is headed in the right direction.”

The All-Region Band Concert will begin at 5 p.m. in the Clyde High School Auditorium in Clyde, Texas.

The following is a list of CJHS students who are participating in the Clinic & Concert: 

Honor Band — Jonah De Los Santos, 12th chair, flute; Lenora Nixson, 1st Chair, clarinet; Brooklyn Beck, 2nd chair, clarinet; Andrea Rochelle, 10th chair, clarinet; Kayleigh Edmondson, 1st chair, bass clarinet; Kian Mulkey, 2nd chair, bari saxophone; and Bradley Trujillo, 4th chair, tuba.

Symphonic Band — Kylee Diffee, 15th chair, flute; Karyme Gomez, 15th chair, clarinet; Ariceli Alcantar, 1st chair, bass clarinet; Aiden Carillo, 8th chair, saxophone; Naomi Foltz, 18th chair, trumpet; Adyson Jones, 1st chair, horn; Jace Mejia, 10th chair, horn; Lillian Orosco, 6th chair, baritone; Alex Davis, 16th chair, flute.
