Family poses for a photo after a signing event

Coahoma High School senior Christian Everett signed her letter of intent to play softball at NCAA Division III Concordia University — Austin to play the sport on the collegiate level. The signing took place at the high school auditorium on Wednesday.

“I just want to say thank you to everybody who has supported me throughout the years. It means so much,” Everett said to the large audience of family, friends, peers, and community members. “Thank you to anyone who has coached me on and off the field. You had a huge impact on my life. Most of all, I want to thank God and my parents. Without them none of this would have been possible.”

As second baseman, Everett helped the Bulldogettes earn silver at the 2022 UIL State 3A championship tournament.

She was named to the All-District 5-3A softball first team in 2021 and 2022 and was selected to the 2022 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State 3A softball team. She was chosen to play in the 2022 TGCA 1A-2A-3A-4A All-Star softball game.

Everett also excels in powerlifting, track, and volleyball.

Academically, Everett is in the top ten percent of her class. At Concordia, she will study psychology and she plans to eventually study communication science and disorders. Everett’s goal is to work in a children’s hospital as speech pathologist.

The Concordia Tornadoes play in the American Southwest Conference.
