The Bulldogs fell to Reagan County 43-51 in a heavily contested district game on Tuesday night.

By the beginning of the second quarter, it seemed Reagan County had taken full control of the match with a 10-point advantage over Coahoma (7-17), but the Bulldogs forced a turn around by scoring 17 points by halftime.  

With just seconds left, Ryan Shifflitt buried a 3-point shot to push Coahoma into the lead for the first time in the game (22-20) . 

After returning for the second half, the two teams continued the battle. The Owls had a late third quarter spurt to end ahead by eight and managed to match Coahoma in points in the fourth  to claim their second district win. 

Raheem Ashford led the Bulldogs in points. He tallied 12 for the night. Ryan Shifflett had 11 and sank three 3-point goals in the first half. 

Next: Coahoma hosts Odessa Compass Academy on Friday, at 8 p.m. The JV game begins at 5:15 p.m.
