MIDLAND — The Coahoma High School golf team had a standout day on the links at the Garden City Invitational held at Ratliff Ranch Golf Course on Monday. 

The Bulldogette team and Bulldog team 1 both finished the tournament in second place. 

Isabella Cox led the Bulldogettes. The CHS junior shot a 91 over 18-holes, and finished second in the medalist standings. Zoie Joslin penciled in a round of 105. Cayhill Lewis scored 109 while Paisley Osborn shot 119. Emma Alaman finished with 123.

In the boys division, freshman Jayden Henderson placed third in the medalist standings. He tied with fellow teammate and freshman Wyatt Oden after both shot 82. Henderson and Oden were three strokes off tournament champion, Kade Nichols of Forsan, who scored a 79.

Henderson’s performance helped lead Bulldog team 1 to their second place finish. Also adding to team 1’s cause was Ryan Shifflett, who shot 86. Billy Bailey and Boyd Cox both fired a round of 92, and Rowdy Atkins rounded out the group with a score of 104.

Bulldog team 2 finished in sixth place. Braxton Richters shot 98, and Oden finished with 82. Andrew Smith fired off a round of 102 while Rance Redden scored 110.

Next: The first round of District 6-3A play will be held at the Hideout Golf Course in Brownwood on Monday, March 27.
