The votes are in and five Coahoma High School seniors have been elected to the 2023 Homecoming Court as part of the annual homecoming festivities occurring this week.

• Isabella Cox is the daughter of Brad and Christina Cox. Isabella is in the top ten percent of her 2024 Class. Some of her extracurricular school activities include varsity volleyball, basketball, golf, track and field, and the athletic training program. For the past three seasons, Isabella was named to the All-District First Team in volleyball and basketball.  

As a leader at CHS, Isabella has served on the student council for the past four years, and she is a three-year member of the National Honor Society. She is very active in the FFA program. Following graduation in the spring, Isabella plans to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock and major in education. 

Maddie Cervantes is the daughter of Manuel Cervantes and Kayla Stanislaus. Maddie is the captain of the CHS cheerleaders, and has served on the varsity squad for the past three years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was elected to the student council her sophomore year. During her junior year, Maddie earned her certified nursing assistant license while she was a fulltime student at CHS. 

She also participates in track and field, is a baseball team manager, and competes in powerlifting. In the fall, Maddie plans to attend Howard College to pursue a career in education. 

• Kinzlee Moran is the daughter of Krista Moran and the step-daughter of Stephen Dodd. She serves as a Bulldog football trainer and a Bulldog baseball team manager. She participated in volleyball and basketball her freshman and sophomore years, and she was elected to the student council her sophomore year. While in high school, Kinzlee earned her certified nursing assistant license from Howard College. Following graduation in May, Kinzlee plans to attend Howard College and participate in the Texas Tech Teach Across Texas program to earn her elementary education certification. 

• Karleigh Burt is the daughter of Andrea and Shane Burt. Karleigh is a four-year member of the Bulldogette varsity softball team, which is the 2023 state champion team and 2022 state runner up team. Her work on the softball field has earned her several outstanding awards including being named to the 2023 UIL All-State Softball Tournament Team — Third Base.

 She collected a number of All-District softball honors such as Defensive MVP as a sophomore, Utility Player as a junior, and First Team — Outfield as a freshman. Karleigh has participated in volleyball, and is a four-year varsity track and field athlete. 

During her time at CHS, Karleigh participated in the FFA program, has served four years on the student council and is a three-year member of the National Honor Society. In the fall, she plans to begin the Howard College registered nurse program. 

• Brynn Rodgers is the daughter of Mandi and Brandon Rodgers. Brynn is an all-around athlete at Coahoma High School participating in varsity volleyball, basketball, track and field, and softball. She is a member of the 2023 Bulldogette State Championship softball team and the 2022 State Runner Up softball team. 

Brynn has been a four-year softball varsity starter and made the All-District team for the past three seasons. She has also received All-District First Team honors in basketball and volleyball. She has served as an officer in the FFA program all four years in high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society. 

Brynn plans to pursue a career in child development and become a child-life specialist. She will further her education at Howard College in the fall. 

The crowning of the 2023 CHS Homecoming Queen will occur during halftime of the varsity Bulldogs home game against Colorado City on Friday. Before the kick-off, the 2023 Football Hero and Sweetheart will be announced. The varsity game will begin at 7 p.m. at the Bill Easterling Memorial Field.
