FORSAN, Texas — Led by dominant performances in the relays and a pair of high-scoring individual athletes, the Coahoma seventh grade girls track and field team captured its second team title of the season recently at the 2026 Forsan JH Stampede.

The 7th Grade Bulldogettes finished with 210 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Abernathy (145) and host Forsan (130).

Ausiana Jackson and Maleah Hurlburt fueled the team victory, finishing as the meet’s top overall point-earners with 38 points each. Jackson claimed gold in the 400-meter dash (1:07.44) and the long jump (14 feet, 2 inches). Hurlburt matched that intensity with first-place finishes in the 200-meter dash (29.01) and the triple jump (32 feet, 1 inch).

Coahoma’s relay teams were equally formidable, securing gold in both the 4x100 and 4x400 events. The quartet of Hurlburt, Allayna Burrow, Madison Chavez, and Jackson powered to victory in the 4x100 with a time of 56.34. The same group returned for the 4x400 relay, clocking a 4:37.24 to seal the team win.

Other individual gold medals for the seventh grade girls included Natalya Lozano in the 800-meter run (3:02.32) and Harley Hays in the shot put (24 feet, 9.5 inches).

The Coahoma eighth grade girls also had a strong showing, finishing second overall with 142 points. The Bulldogettes dominated the throwing and jumping pits, with Covy Brock taking first in the shot put (28 feet, 3.5 inches), Reyna Gonzales winning the discus (67 feet, 11 inches), and Jocelyn Sheppard clearing 8 feet to win the pole vault.

In the boys' divisions, the eighth grade squad finished fourth, highlighted by gold-medal performances from Hollister Hugunin in the 400-meter dash (1:00.13), Travis Mckiski in the 1,600-meter run (5:57.43), and Gentry Barnes in the 2,400-meter run (9:49).

The seventh grade boys finished third overall, led by Travis Callow’s victory in the discus with a throw of 106 feet.

The Coahoma Junior High track team will be back in action on Thursday, March 26, at the District 3-3A track meet in Coahoma.
