Girls running at a track meet

MaKynlee Overton earned gold and set a new school shot put record at the Coahoma High School Invitational held on Thursday.

The Coahoma junior threw a distance of 35 feet, six inches to finish first in the varsity event. In the boy’s shot put event, Zack Schneider captured gold for the Bulldogs with a throw of 47 feet, four inches.

Overall, the CHS track team dominated the meet. The varsity squad won 14 gold medals while the JV earned 18. The varsity girls, JV girls and JV boys team placed first overall while the varsity boys placed second. 

Next: The track team will compete at the Badger Relays in Merkel on March 19.
