Boys walking at a track meet

BIG SPRING — Madison Rodgers, Kirah Kimball, Joe Manning and Sean Striegler all earned gold for the Bulldog/Bulldogette varsity track teams at the Howard County Invitational event held at Blankenship Field on Thursday.

Rodgers placed first in the 100 meter dash and long jump. She clocked a time of 13.86 in the dash and went a distance of 14-05.00 in the long jump. Adding to the Coahoma gold count was Kirah Kimball. Her throw in the shot put went 30-05.00. Overall, the girls varsity team placed third in the meet. 

Dallas Baptist University signee Manning dominated in the triple jump earning first. He went 40-08.00. Showing off his powerful legs, Striegler went 19-10.50 in the long jump. It was enough for gold. The boys varsity team ended in fifth.

In the JV division, the team of Genesis Olivas, Layla Salinas, Katelyn Johnson and Dusy Wyatt swept the girls relay events. Coahoma won the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 event. Their team’s outstanding performance helped lead the JV girls to second in the standings overall. Coahoma tied with Colorado City

Isaiah Martin started out the first meet of the season catapulting to first place in the long jump with a distance of 17-05.00. His strong performance helped lead the junior varsity boys team to fourth place in the JV division.
