JV Bulldogette track team wins 5-3A District meet
CRANE — The Coahoma High School JV girls track team won the 5-3A championship, the JV boys came in second at the district meet held on Friday.
Freshman Sophia Biddison captured two of the six gold medals won by the JV girls team during the meet. She came in first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 31.02 and in the high jump with a distance of 4-06. She also earned two silver medals in the 4x100 meter relay and the long jump, and a bronze in the 4x200 relay.
Also earning gold in the individual events were Maddie Cervantes (100 meter hurdles), Analyse Menzoa (300 meter hurdles), Veda Cortez (long jump), and Delia Rawls (shot put).
In the boys JV Division, Reagan Chapman finished off an excellent season by winning two golds. He placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 18.08 and in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.82, and earned silver in the high jump. Nick Gonzales had an outstanding day. He won the shot put division with a throw of 39-6.50.
The JV boys team capped off the day by winning the 4x200 relay. The team of Isaiah Eldea, Nick Tutle, Jesse Herandez, and Rowdy Atkins clocked a time of 1:38.88 to win the gold.
Combined, the JV teams came home with 10 gold medals, 10 silver, and five bronze in the individual events.The relay teams medaled in six events.
