ANSON — The Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker on Friday after the Anson Tigers hit a walk-off grand slam to steal away the victory, 8-4.

The Tigers were quick to take the lead early in the game scoring two runs in the first inning and one more in the second, but the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the third. Ky Kemper started off a Bulldog drive when he stole home for Coahoma’s first run.

Then, the Bulldog offense took control of the game in the fourth starting with Taylor Barnes who singled on a line drive to right field to bring in Kobe Cervantes for the run. The Bulldogs tied the game when Chris Castillo scored a run off a bunt by Brysen Kerby. A balked pitch by Anson sent Barnes across home plate and gave Coahoma the lead.

From then on, the game came down to a pitcher's duel through the bottom of the seventh inning. The Tigers tied the game on a line drive to center field for a run and the next batter sealed their victory with the grand slam. Kemper, Barnes, Castillo, and Cervantes all got hits for the Bulldogs. Brant Gartmen hit a double in the second inning. Kemper was solid on the mound. He allowed eight runs off of nine hits and struck out six.
