Jovi Gonzales led Coahoma with 8 points and Cassie Grant added 6 in the Bulldogettes district opener against the Merkel Lady Badgers Tuesday night. Coahoma lost 24-58.
Caitlyn Corley struck first nailing a 2-point basket to put Coahoma up on the scoreboard 2-0 after both teams had trouble scoring at the post in the first few minutes of the game. However, 30 seconds later the Lady Badgers answered with a field goal and took control for the rest of the match. Turnovers hurt Coahoma all night. The Bulldogettes are now 0-1 in district play.
