SEAGRAVES — Coahoma powerlifters Cailey Glover and Christian Everett will compete with the best in the state later this month after qualifying at the Regional 1, Division 3 contest held on Friday in Seagraves.

Glover will make her second appearance at state after she placed second in her weight class at regionals. The Cohaoma junior squatted 330 pounds, bench pressed 150 pounds, and deadlifted 305 pounds for a total of 785 pounds. Everett, a freshman, placed sixth in her weight class. She squatted 195 pounds, bench pressed 100, and deadlifted 225 pounds for a total of 520. 

Coahoma’s other two regional power qualifiers Serena Dobbs and Kirah Kimball had an outstanding day but didn’t advance. Dobbs placed sixth in her weight class. She squatted 235 pounds, bench pressed 105 pounds, and deadlifted 215 pounds for a total of 555 pounds. Kimball squatted 285 pounds, bench pressed 180 pounds, and deadlifted 270 pounds for a total of 735 pounds. She placed seventh in the meet.

The Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association state contest is set for March 20 in Waco, Texas.
